35-year-old Mike Herron, who also goes by the name “Ryke” was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

The debilitating effects of this disease have caused significant financial strain for Mike and his four beautiful children. The side effects from prescribed chemotherapy treatments have made it impossible for Mike to work. Without health insurance and having to endure a 1-3 year wait for SSI/Disability assistance, this family is in a bind. The Redskins run the worst trick play anyone’s ever seen

The play you are about to see actually happened last night. It might look more like the random, senseless motions on one of those old, buzzing, electric football games, but I assure you, this was real.
The Washington Redskins were being beaten soundly by the New York Giants last night, and had a chance to get on the scoreboard just before halftime. Head coach Jim Zorn opted against the field goal, and instead ran this “trick play.” I guess it sort of worked, because it did catch everyone by surprise, but only in the sense that no one ever dreamed it was possible to execute a play that failed this colossally.

2009 has been a bitch, especially for the Deadskins. I’m so glad I was out west where I couldn’t watch this fiasco. Wow. Maybe we can will get a new coach and team to go along with that new general manager we just got. What a mess.

UPDATE: As I was posting this I got an email from the Skin’s box office. For “whatever reason”, a bunch of seats all over the stadium are now available for the home game against Dallas on Sunday. I may have to buy one of those $44, 50 yard line spots just so I can throw snowballs at both teams.
